Birthday Surprise
Social Program for Children with Special Needs

At SDC, we believe that every child deserves a fulfilling, well-rounded childhood, complete with magic, surprise, and joy. We hope to show children with disabilities that they have the support of many people, in addition to their families, who believe in them.

The objective of this program is to spread some fun and joy to children with disabilities on their birthday. For each registered child, with permission from their parent(s) and classroom teacher, we celebrate their birthday with them and their class by bringing in a birthday present, card, and cake. The birthday gift is often a toy, educational item, or an appliance to make their daily lives easier. The surprise is delivered to the student during a preferable time set by the school (often on their actual birthday, or a Monday or Friday if their birthday is on the weekend). It is brought to the school by an SDC representative. There is no cost associated with the program.

Are you interested in having members of SDC bring your child a surprise on his/her birthday? If so, please register! If your child is approved, a member(s) of SDC will bring the Birthday Surprise program to your child and his/her classroom!
