Hear From Our Volunteers

I have been involved with SDC programs for a few years, as a learning buddy for the MPM math sessions and as a volunteer on a trip to help families with various needs. Working with SDC has opened my eyes to a world where youth CAN make an impact. SDC has built the foundation for my own educational journey and steered me in the direction of what I believe to be my future career path.
— Tiana L.
Volunteering in both the math program and the drama program was quite fun. I learned how to deal with many different types of situations and scenarios that I felt I would never had the opportunity to.
— Kevin M.
Being able to volunteer at SDC is one of the best experiences and memories of my life. Throughout the program, I learned that patience and enthusiasm are the key of life.
— Edward L.
Through volunteering at SDC’s MPM program and helping participants with math, I have deeply realized that patience and care can unlock anyone’s potential, and also made me appreciate every moment of growth.

Volunteering for SDC has been a heartwarming journey and transformative experience. Seeing their small but significant progress brought me immense joy and a sense of fulfillment.

Step 2: Registration Confirmation

Once you submit your application, you'll receive a confirmation email that your registration has been received.

Step 3: Criminal Record Check (CRC)

Because we work with participants and individuals in the vulnerable sector, all volunteers must complete a valid Criminal Record Check.

  • If you do not have a valid CRC, our team will contact you with instructions and a secure link to complete the online process.

  • You can verify your ID using your BC Services Card login (recommended), or by having your ID verified through a video call with our team.

  • Once cleared, your CRC is valid for five years, unless otherwise specified.

Please note: Your volunteer registration will only be finalized once a valid CRC is completed. If you're unable to complete the check by the given deadline, we won’t be able to proceed with your volunteer placement.

If you have any questions, please contact us at programs@socialdiversity.org
