Rain Policy
This policy outlines the measures that will be taken in case of rain, and other external conditions before or during a program session, that may lead to the cancellation of an in-person program session.
Rain Policy
If it is raining on the day of a program session, program participants will be contacted at about 11 AM on the morning of the session regarding the status of the cancellation
If it is determined that the rain is light, the session will continue
If it is determined that the rain is too heavy, the session will be postponed to the week after the original end date of the program (on the same day of the week)
For example, if one Wednesday session is cancelled throughout the program, the make-up class will occur on the Wednesday of the week after the planned end date of the program
Earthquake Policy
If there were to be an earthquake during a program session, the safety of all participants will be the top priority
During the shake, the instructor and volunteers will find a cover to protect all participants from any falling or moving objects
When the shake stops, the instructor and volunteers will ensure that all participants are in an open space away from any hazards
Parents or legal guardians will be contacted as soon as possible to organize a safe pick-up method
Any Other Emergencies
The program instructor and volunteers will distance all participants from the immediate hazard
Any emergency measures that are necessary will be taken
Calling 911
Performing First Aid/CPR
Etc.
Parents and guardians will be contacted as soon as possible to organize a safe pick-up method
There will be a First-Aid certified staff at every in-person program session.
