Rain Policy

This policy outlines the measures that will be taken in case of rain, and other external conditions before or during a program session, that may lead to the cancellation of an in-person program session.

Rain Policy

  • If it is raining on the day of a program session, program participants will be contacted at about 11 AM on the morning of the session regarding the status of the cancellation

  • If it is determined that the rain is light, the session will continue

  • If it is determined that the rain is too heavy, the session will be postponed to the week after the original end date of the program (on the same day of the week)

    • For example, if one Wednesday session is cancelled throughout the program, the make-up class will occur on the Wednesday of the week after the planned end date of the program

Earthquake Policy

  • If there were to be an earthquake during a program session, the safety of all participants will be the top priority

  • During the shake, the instructor and volunteers will find a cover to protect all participants from any falling or moving objects

  • When the shake stops, the instructor and volunteers will ensure that all participants are in an open space away from any hazards

  • Parents or legal guardians will be contacted as soon as possible to organize a safe pick-up method

Any Other Emergencies

  • The program instructor and volunteers will distance all participants from the immediate hazard

  • Any emergency measures that are necessary will be taken

    • Calling 911

    • Performing First Aid/CPR

    • Etc.

  • Parents and guardians will be contacted as soon as possible to organize a safe pick-up method

There will be a First-Aid certified staff at every in-person program session.
